Program Goal
Corvallis Future Spartans Basketball is offered to boys and girls in the 4th–8th grade and planning to attend Corvallis High School (CHS). The goal of the program is to provide competitive opportunities for our athletes to develop not just their basketball skills, but also sportsmanship, teamwork and commitment. Corvallis Future Spartans has been providing these opportunities for over 25 years.

NEW BOARD MEMBERS ARE NEEDED TO ENSURE THAT FUTURE SPARTANS BASKETBALL CONTINUES FOR THE NEXT 25 YEARS!
The board is down to 4 active members with 3 vacant roles and 3 outgoing members whose kids are all in high school now. We need 6 parent volunteers to step up for the roles listed above as soon as possible. The time commitment is about 15-25 hours per year depending on your role. The outgoing board members will be available on a consult this year and next as needed.

Season Details: The Corvallis Future Spartan Basketball season will run from early November 2025 through late February, or early March 2026.

Grades: The Corvallis Future Spartan Basketball program is offered to boys and girls currently in the 4th-8th grade and planning to attend CHS. 

Team Formation: The intent each year is to offer up to 2 teams per grade and skill level. The final number of teams at each grade level will depend upon the number of players who tryout and volunteer coaches. Depending on the number of athletes trying out, cuts may be necessary.

Practice and Games: Teams will practice 2–3 times per week. Practice and game schedules will be determined by the head coach and based upon their availability. 

Player Fees: 
4th-5th grade: $250 (includes 3 tournaments) 
6th-8th grade: $350 (includes 5 tournaments)

***Player Fees will be assessed after teams are assigned, there is no cost to tryout***

In addition to the tournaments outlined above, the Player Fees cover uniform, equipment, insurance, and program administrative costs. Payment will be due after teams have been formed.

Future Spartans Basketball is committed to ensuring this opportunity available to everyone in the CHS community. Scholarships are available on an as-needed basis. Please contact Cory Badger to discuss.

Future Spartan Clinics
Corvallis Future Spartan Basketball is offering optional pre-tryout practice opportunities for both boys and girls who have interest in playing Future Spartan Basketball. The Clinics will be led by coaches in our program.  If you are new to Future Spartans, this will be a great opportunity to get to know our program as well as the tryout location. If you’ve been a part of our program in past years, this will be an opportunity to get in additional practice time ahead of the tryouts. Regardless, we are hoping to get as many Future Spartans as possible out for the Clinic.

Tryouts
Tryouts for boys and girls will be held on separate days. Registration is required for tryouts but payment will not be required until after teams are assigned.

Coaches
Future Spartans Basketball is looking for coaches at all levels. Coaching is a critical component of our program and teams will not be formed until we have committed coaches. The online application form for the coaches is available from here. 

Volunteers
Future Spartans Basketball is run entirely by volunteers. We're looking for new board members (see above!). If you are interested in joining the Future Spartans Leadership team, please contact Cory Badger.

Once the season gets underway, each team will need a Team Parent as well as a Score or Timekeeper for each game. The Team Parent role varies from team to team, but is there to support our coaches with administrative tasks like scheduling tournaments, organizing Score or Timekeepers, helping collect money, coordinating gym space for practices, or setting up team social activities, etc.
